Char's Year

Charlotte Vanderhurst's Year 07-08 as our club's President

Char was a wonderful, full of fun, leader from July 2008 to June 2009.
This page eventully will be a photo tribute to her and
a review of her great leadership skills.

Four videos follow of the Carbondale Rotary Club's first (and probably the only)
performance of the Full Throttle band under the direction of Steve Skinner
and some comments by a few of our club members about Charlotte's year.

"You Tube" viewing tips:
1) To view the video enlarged to your full screen,

2) "You Tube" sometimes takes over your choice of videos to view. If you wish to

Demotion Party - Video-4 of 4 - 07/08/09

After the great musical performance of the Carbondale Rotary Club's Full Throttle band,
under the direction of Steve Skinner, club members were asked to come forward
and say something about Charlotte's year as president of the club.
This video gives you an idea of what Charlotte's year was like. Don Voltmer

It seemed to me, Don Voltmer, that Charlotte went overboard in thanking me for my contributions to our club during her presidency with three awards - 1) Sponsor of most new members, 2) Perfect Attendance, & 3) Great service & energy to the club as it's Webmaster, but I must say that I am very proud to be so recognized. Thank you so much, Charlotte.

Ed Perregaux, our club's Happening Sponsorship Chairman and Assistant District 5470 Governor 2008-2009, being thanked for his wonderful continuing services to our club, District 5470 and Rotary International.

Lynn Kirchner, our member communications person and past club president, gets thanked with many goodies from Charlotte.

Charlotte gave Lynn a special pair of glasses so she could see into the future.

Wendy Moore, known to your Webmaster as Charlotte's "right-hand", getting recognized for all her great assistance to Charlotte this past year. By the way, Charlotte, what is that you are holding up and giving to Wendy?

Herschel Ross is introduced as our new President and thanked by Charlotte for all his great help in the past year as our Vice President.

Charlotte shows off the plaque recognizing her great contributions to our Rotary club in 2008-2009 as our President. I'm sure the plaque will proudly be hung on a wall for all to see.

Demotion Party 2009 - CV - H Ross

At every Demotion Party's end the departing president gives the new president the mike. Here is Charlotte handing over the mike to Herschel Ross, our new president.

Herschel's moto for the new year is "Fair Winds and Calm Seas". So set your sails for Fun and jump on board for another great year!
